Origami Lion Dance Kog'Maw by frecmenta Origami Lion Dance Kog'Maw by frecmenta
I can't believe I have finally fcking did it.
Ok so, I have covered this in my previous journal, but I'll say it again. A week ago, Nikasaur (for those that know LoL, yeah THE Nikasaur) has asked me to make an Origami piece for the Lunar Revel paper-craft contest but until 7th February. Because of the exams that I've had these past weeks I couldn't make it faster, thus being delayed by at least a day. IN the end I managed, by some painstaking work, to complete it.

This is Kog'Maw from League of Legends featured in his Lion Dance skin. This skin I think came out during Lunar Revel, or The Chinese New Year. Apparently they release skins as a celebration to "The Chinese New Year" every year, since they released some skins last year, and they will this year as well.

I apologize because of the color difference if you were to look at the original skin. I could not fin black paper to make his eyes. He has 2 pairs of eyes, both at approximately the same eye line. I would have used black paper to make his eyes, as they are in the skin, but had to make the green, tying to symbolize jade. The color of his head also differs from the skin. In the skin it is a faded green, much like jade, but I ended up using faded blue, since it looked closer to what I needed, and didn't had enough time to look for the right kind of paper. To make a better comparison to what I did, and to what the skin looks: [link]

Now of course, I'll ask in advance some questions:
Q: How long did it took?
A: It took me a whole week, with about 4-5h a day.

Q: How many pieces were used?
A: I can safely say that I used at least 100 A4 papers, thus at least 1600 pieces to make it.

Q: How did you made his upper and lower jaw to stay?
A: I CONFESS!!! Even though I don't use it, I had to on this piece. I used glue to stick them there. This is the first, and hopefully the last piece that I used glue on. I was running out of time to think of a better way to stick it there.

Q: The angle sucks. Can you upload a photo from a different angle?
A: At the moment, you'll just have to deal with it. I might make a better shot in the future, maybe put something white underneath, I don't know, you'll just have to wait and see.

Those were the questions.
In advance, as usual, I apologize for any inconveniences created.
